Danielle Fishel's first adult haircut was on live TV, and she gifted a few handfuls of her chopped locks to Boy Meets World fans.

The standout, who played Topanga Lawrence in the beloved '90s series, detailed the surprising moment during the latest episode of iHeartRadio rewatch podcast, Pod Meets World, zooming in on the 1996 season four episode "Hair Today, Goon Tomorrow," where she unexpectedly debuted a new look.

"I really did cut my hair. It was not a wig. It was definitely my hair. I had only had one haircut in my entire life, and it was when I was two. I had hair down to my butt from the time I was two, and my hair at the end had little ringlet curls. My mom, at one point, decided I needed a trim, and they just cut off those ringlet curls, and then I never had another haircut until that time I cut my hair on TV."

Fishel, who hosts the podcast with former co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle, explained that the show's executive producer, Michael Jacobs, was only ok with her cutting her long locks if he could write an episode about it.

"I was so excited. I was really ready to get rid of it. It was gonna be my first adult haircut. I asked, and Michael said at first, 'No, absolutely not. No, no, no.' And I continued, I persisted. And then he said, 'Okay, at least let me write an episode about it.'"

Jacobs and Fishel also disagreed about the amount of hair she wanted to chop.

"It was an actual negotiation. And there was a lot of stress about whether or not I was gonna listen because [they] knew I had all the power with the scissors in my hands."

The star ended up chopping off "chunks of hair" and "gave out pieces to the audience," who gasped when she started cutting.
