Homeowners Are Suing SoCal Edison Over Laguna Niguel Fire

Residents from Laguna Niguel whose homes have been destroyed due to the wildfire that broke out last week are suing Southern California Edison. They are claiming that the utility's equipment is to blame for the fire outbreak.

The fire broke out on May 11 in Aliso Woods Canyon and forced hundreds of residents to evacuate as the fire spread to nearly 200 acres. The Coastal Fire destroyed 20 homes and damaged 11 others in the community. Although the cause of the fire is under investigation, SoCal Edison said in the report that an electrical "circuit activity" occurred around the time of when the fire broke out.
