The Dodger Stadium Aerial Tram May Be Here Sooner Than You Think

Imagine walking into an enclosed glass gondola and practically floating up to Dodger's stadium to see the boys in blue.

Seems far off? It might be possible sooner than you think.

Mayor Garcetti told the Los Angeles Times that an aerial transit technology could be fully operational by 2022.

Today the project took one step forward, with Metro sending out a formal Request for Information to the firm, Aerial Rapid Transit Technologies, proposing the idea.

This company was founded by Drew McCourt, the son of former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, also a major investor.

The tram was considered a plausible and efficient plan and has now moved into the next exploratory Phase II Analysis.

The next step will be to decide whether Metro would have procured the project or if it would stay the responsibility of Aerial Rapid Transit Technologies to execute the construction.

Mayor Garcetti seems adamant about the project saying, “It’s also another 5,000 people that can come without having to be in a vehicle, even that shuttle bus,” he said, adding that, “This isn’t something that’s just about Dodgers games…. It will become something for visitors, for local residents, for first dates, for marriage proposals.”
