Selena Gomez Admits Comments About Her Weight Make Her 'A Tad Bitter'

Selena Gomez is over the public comments about her body.

Gomez appeared on a recent episode of the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast with her fiancé and I Said I Love You First collaborator Benny Blanco for a wide-ranging interview, including conversations about body image, which she noted often causes women "more intense feelings" about their appearance as "no one cares about these kind of things with men."

She added that a major topic she is tired of are the conversations about her weight. The "Scared Of Loving You" singer has been open in the past about how her weight can often fluctuate due to the medication she takes for her lupus, a chronic autoimmune disorder.

"My weight's a big one too," she said. "Everyone just has something to say and it's really making me sad and — not even sad 'cause, I'm not a victim, everyone — I just think it's made me a tad bitter and I feel really guilty for saying that but it's true."

The "Scared of Loving You" singer admitted that she tries to avoid reading comments online but some things occasionally pop that she "can't help but see" and she "[falls] victim" to seeing the criticism.

"I'm human and sometimes I read things," she said. "But I do, most of the time, ignore everything. I don't have anything on my phone at the moment. So, there are ways to combat it... I'm not in, like, 'I hate it.' I understand the power of what social media is. It's just tricky."
